Chicken Chettinad / Pepper Chicken in Instant Pot
Ingredients :
Chicken - 2 lbs
Small Onions (Shallots) - 1/2 lb (15 small onions)
Tomatoes - 2 (medium size)
Ginger garlic paste - 1 Tablespoon
To Prepare Chettinad masala :-
In a Pan
Add :
Pepper corns - 1 teaspoon
Fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
Saute on a low heat for 2 minutes
Turn off the flame
Add : Coconut powder - 3 Tablespoons (or) use fresh coconut
Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Chili powder - 1 & 1/4 teaspoon
Garam masala powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Poppy seeds - 1 teaspoon
Procedure :
On Saute ,
Add :
Oil - 3 Tablespoons
Onions
Saute onions till they turn brown
Add :
Ginger garlic paste (1 TBS)
Tomatoes
Cook tomatoes till they turn mushy ( cook for 5 minutes)
Add:
Chettinad masala and mix well
Add :
Chicken
water - 1 cup
Cancel Saute
Close the lid and seal
Manual (or) Pressure cook - 6 minutes
Pressure : HIGH
Release : Quick Release
Open the lid and add Coriander Leaves .
